This Week in Room 33! Oct. 23-26

Looking forward to seeing everyone this week at our student-led conferences! (Mon. and Wed.)

We will be heading to the Sheldon this Tuesday to see the Jazz Story. We will leave at 9:00 and return by 11:45.

What to expect this week in 5th grade...

Science- We are continuing our study on Earth's Systems. We are working towards being able to describe ways the geosphere, biosphere, hydrosphere, and atmosphere interact.

Writing- We will begin revising our Westward Expansion research reports and learn how writers of history pay attention to geography, how we write to think, and how to draw on an awareness of timelines.

Reading- We will continue to focus on reading complex nonfiction texts as we uncover what makes a main idea complex, strategies for determining implicit main ideas, and using context to determine meaning of vocabulary.

Math- We are diving into chapter 5 this week- adding and subtracting decimals!

Social Studies- We are presenting our Constitution projects this week. Check it out here: Constitution End of Unit Project
