This Week in Room 33! May 15-19

We have an exciting week ahead! We will be heading to the middle schools for our Fly Over Day on Tuesday! We will begin walking to Sperreng after lunch (around 12:45). Please join us for our DARE Graduation and 5th Grade Recognition Ceremony on Thursday at 10:30 in the gym! Lastly, we have Fun Day on Friday (wear clothes you wouldn't mind getting wet and maybe bring an extra set of clothes for after!)

With all of our activities, we will try our best to squeeze in as much learning AND fun as possible! Here's what else is happening this week---

Social Studies- Students will work in groups to portray a cause of the American Revolution in a creative way. We will focus on the Stamp, Tea, & Townshend Acts, Boston Massacre, Boston Tea Party, and Valley Forge!

Writing- This week we will continue learning about and creating different types of poetry. We will also create "block-out" poetry (see example below!).

Math- We will continue to work towards our ALEKS goals! We will also continue working on skills for 6th grade.

Reading-  We will finish up our final realistic fiction book clubs. We are hoping to have opportunities this week to read our books outside! :)
