This Week in Room 33! May 8-12

I hope everyone was able to enjoy the sun this weekend after all of the rain we had! We have another busy and exciting week coming up in fifth grade!

This week...

Social Studies- We will be researching causes of the American Revolution in research teams. Each team will come up with their own creative and exciting way to present their information to the rest of the class.

Writing- We will be learning about and creating different types of poetry throughout the week including color poems, concrete poems, free style poems, etc!

Math- The class will learn how to find the mean, median, mode, and range of number sets. We will be practicing with a lot of examples, videos, and games to help us learn!

Reading- Book clubs will continue this week as we read and discuss important features of our books. As always, we will continue reading and recommending choice books to our classmates.

Science- Due to the flood days and junior achievement day we were not able to complete the "bottle flipping" investigation last week. We will begin the investigation tomorrow!
