This Week in Room 33! May 16-20

We have an exciting week ahead! We will be heading to the middle schools for our Fly Up Day on Tuesday! Our lunch will be earlier (at 12) and then we will board buses around 1:00. Please join us for our DARE Graduation and 5th Grade Recognition Ceremony on Thursday at 10:30 in the gym! Lastly, we have Fun Day on Friday (wear clothes you wouldn't mind getting wet and maybe bring an extra set of clothes for after!)

With all of our activities, we will try our best to squeeze in as much learning AND fun as possible! Here's what else is happening this week---

Social Studies- Students will work in groups to portray a cause of the American Revolution in a creative way (skits!) We will focus on the French & Indian War, Stamp, Tea, & Townshend Acts, Boston Massacre, Boston Tea Party, Intolerable Acts & Paul Revere's Ride!

Writing- This week we are reflecting on our year by writing a letter to next year's 5th grade students. We will also create "block-out" poetry (see example below!)

Math- We will continue to work towards our ALEKS goals! Our final ALEKS Pie Party will be Thursday, May 26th! We will also work on statistics and ratios.

Reading- We are hoping to have opportunities this week to read our books outside! :)
