This Week in Room 33! May 4-8

It's hard to believe that we are already in the last month of the school year! We are busy in 5th grade- here's what to expect this week:

Social Studies-We are discussing the New England, Middle, and Southern colonies and will soon get into the causes of the American Revolution! We are really focusing on reading a piece of text, understanding it, and pushing our thinking in our discussions.

Writing- We are wrapping up our DARE essays this week! They are due this Friday on the Google drive!

Math- I am SO impressed with the creativity in our classroom! Students will be completing their "Station Creation" projects this week. Students should still be working on ALEKS at home as their homework! Students who complete their 5th grade pie by May 8th will be invited to a "Pie Party" at lunch to celebrate their accomplishment!

Reading- This week we are continuing to discuss favorite authors and work on our author studies. I am loving our rich discussions on these authors and how the writer's experiences have led to their published work. Students should be reading 20 minutes each night!
