This Week in Room 33! 3/10-3/14

What to expect this week in 5th grade:

Math- Assignment #9 and the morning work word problem sheet is due Friday. We have celebrated the fact that we have learned SO MUCH this year and are beginning to review past math skills. We are specifically reviewing whole numbers, decimals, and fractions.

Science- Our space test is Wednesday. Students should use their study guide and notebook to help them study! There is also a power point HERE. Check out these websites for more practice: Moon Challenge and Study Jams.

Reading- We are reading independently (does your student have a plan to read over spring break?) and working hard in small guided reading groups with a focus on story elements and figurative language.

Writing- Students will be completing their first argumentative essay in the form of a letter to Dr. Stryjewski on whether or not they believe our school should serve chocolate milk. Our focus is on using evidence and quotations to back up our claim.

Reminders:

Father/Daughter dance is TONIGHT (Tue.) from 6-8
Half day this Friday- dismissal is at 11:50
Spring Break 3/17-3/21
