This Week in Room 33! Oct. 28-31

What to expect this week in 5th grade:

Math- This week we will work on dividing decimals! Our Unit 4 test will be Wed. Nov. 5th.

Science- We are continuing our unit on weather this week, creating our layers of the atmosphere posters, and discussing air and wind.

Reading- We will continue discussing making inferences in our reading as well as determining author's purpose (to persuade, to inform, to entertain).

Writing- In our personal narrative unit, we will be studying a mentor text to lift our writing and bring it to the next level. To become better writers we can study the works of other writers. We are making so many connections between reading and writing and learning that they go hand in hand!

"Read, read, read. Read everything- trash, classics, good and bad, and see how they do it. Just like a carpenter who works as an apprentice and studies the master. Read! You'll absorb it. Then write."
-William Faulkner
