This Week in Room 33! May 12-15

What to expect this week in 5th grade:

Math- We are learning how to multiply and divide fractions!

Science- Our simple machines test is Tuesday. Check out the science page (tab at top of blog) for 3 presentations you can view to help study! We will be starting our compound machine project at the end of the week.

Social Studies- Keep on studying your states and capitals!

Reading- Literature circles will meet this Thursday. We will be reading poetry and discussing how poetry can help with our fluency. Check out  Giggle Poetry Website

Writing- We are beginning our poetry unit! Each student has chosen a theme or topic for their own personal anthology! An anthology is a collection of related poems. Poetry is so much FUN because of its creativity and endless boundaries- I cannot wait to continue exploring poetry with this class!
