Math- We are studying unit 3 on multiplying whole numbers and decimals (chapters 7-8) this week. Please check with your student to see how they are doing at recalling basic multiplication facts. At home, students can practice their math facts using xtramath.org or Math Magician. Our unit 3 test will be next Wed., Oct. 9.
Science- We are beginning our next unit on weather this week!
Reading- This week we are focusing on story elements- the ingredients to a narrative story! Check out THIS VIDEO we watched in class on Monday about story elements. We are learning that it is important to recognized story elements in our reading and to also include them in our writing to make our narratives more EXCITING!
Writing- We are beginning our unit on narrative writing and focusing on strategies to help us generate ideas that will create POWERFUL stories. We are learning that it takes COURAGE to write about ourselves.
Words contracts are due this Friday and our spelling tests are on Friday.
